Thomas M. Stolz, CPA

Tom started the firm with Don Griffith in 1991 and serves as the firm's managing partner. Tom’s passion for his profession and pursuit of excellence is evidenced by the high quality of service to our clients providing federal and state income tax planning and compliance for corporate and pass-through entities as well as individual income tax preparation, review and tax consulting services.

His experience includes servicing clients over a multitude of industries including construction, real estate, manufacturing, distribution and consumer markets.

Tom has been in public accounting since graduating from Ramapo College in New Jersey in 1977 and has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of CPA’s since the early 1980’s.

When not in the office, Tom can be found climbing mountains, skiing, or training to run yet another marathon, and enjoys traveling.

Donald J. Griffith, CPA

Don has over 30 years of experience in finance and accounting where he has held several CFO and financial leadership positions with 22 years in public accounting and more than 10 years in corporate finance with Exxon Corporation. He is the current Chief Financial Officer and serves on the Board of Directors for Oncobiologics, Inc. in Cranbury, NJ.

Don holds a business degree from City College of New York and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of CPA’s.

Using his extensive business experience, Don assists clients in business planning and problem solving. He practices in almost all areas of accounting, tax consulting and planning. He also does business consulting with our corporate clients.

On summer weekends, Don and his wife, Sue, can be found on their boat traveling the Jersey shore and nearby boat accessible destinations.

Clare van Lier

Clare van Lier balances more than just the books at Stolz & Griffith. As a licensed tax preparer, she is dedicated to helping our clients achieve business success by helping them establish innovative, practical bookkeeping and tax processes.

With over 15 years experience in public accounting and an AICPA member, Clare has extensive knowledge in consulting and supporting computerized accounting systems, tax preparation and customer service. She enjoys working closely with our clients.

Clare grew up in New York and attended both Marymount University in Arlington, VA and Rutgers University. Along with her husband, Glenn, they travel as often as possible primarily visiting their daughters. She also enjoys cooking, swimming, reading, and logic puzzles.

Sheila Case

Sheila Case has extensive office and bookkeeping experience and has been involved in public accounting for over 7 ½ years. She enjoys working with our clients, putting emphasis on tailoring bookkeeping systems to enhance their business needs, and is also experienced in income tax planning and preparation.

Sheila is also heavily involved in the accounting needs of her family’s businesses and is responsible for bookkeeping activities, preparation of tax returns, monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payable, and all payroll functions.

Sheila is a native New Jerseyan who resides locally with her husband, Bob and sons. In her spare time, Sheila enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle, exercising daily, and traveling.

Meridith Bennington

Meridith Bennington is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Finance. She has over 20 years experience in Financial Administration and bookkeeping ranging from start up’s to national corporations. She has extensive knowledge of various software including QuickBooks as well as budgeting and pro forma’s.

Meridith grew up in the mid west but lived in New Orleans and the Boston area before settling in New Jersey. She has resided in Hunterdon County for over 15 years and loves it. She fills her spare time with her twin sons and her college age daughter and their activities.

At Stolz & Griffith, we recognize that we all have a responsibility to our community and country to work together to help impede the spread of COVID-19. Because we know that limited physical contact is a critical factor, our office will continue to limit in-person meetings/interactions.

By now you should have received your 2020 tax organizer via email. If you haven’t received your organizer and would like one, please contact our office. Once you have gathered all your 2020 tax information, we encourage you to please mail, email or fax it to us. If you prefer to drop it off, we have a drop box located at the bottom of our stairs just inside the front door. If you need to meet with a tax professional, we request that you call to make an appointment.

As always, you will be contacted once your returns are completed and processed. Please review your tax returns and return the signed and dated efile authorization form(s) with your payment. Once payment and signed documents have been received, your tax returns will be efiled.
